Dear Friends of Kollel Chatzos
Shalom U'vrachah!

In honor of the upcoming Yom Tov we are happy to send to you a beautiful d'var Torah about Pesach, which was written by one of the members of the Kollel (the d'var Torah is written in Hebrew). In it you will find out about the greatness of the Yom Tov, and the seder night, and advice how to gain the most from these special days. We are working on having it translated into English, and we hope that in the future we can send you words of Torah in English.

I am also attaching an article which was printed in Hamodia this week about our Kollel Chatzos.

At this opportunity, we thank all those who answered warmly our Kimcha D'pischa campaign, and we ask those families who have not yet participated to take part in this great mitzvah, and in this merit, they will be blessed with all their hearts desires.

We sent out letters this week to all our supporters, with a 'kvittel'
form to fill out the names for tefillah, with a return envelope for donations.

Over 60 avreichim presently in Kollel Chatzos

Yes! Yes! It's unbelievable but it is true. Currently there are over 60 avreichim tzaddikim, yirei shomayim who are dedicated and give up from the worldly pleasure and get up each night at midnight with great self sacrifice to give Nachat Ruach to Hakadosh Baruch Hu. Baruch Hashem the kollel is growing in leaps and bounds. There is simply no way to explain this according to the laws of nature. Not in the spiritual sense and not in the material sense. Last year there were 30 avreichim, and within one year the Kollel doubled in size. Naturally the kol torah at chatzot is very very powerful. The expenses doubled too. Today the standard monthly budget is $40,000. Each avreich receives a stipend of about $650. There is barely any room to move around inside the beit medrash. The avreichim squeeze around the tables and toil in the holy torah until the morning. The tefilla is also very powerful, with such a sweetness, and a loud outpouring of the soul. It is our hope that klal yisrael will respond and will give more and more for torah study, especially because the expenses are getting bigger and the financial situation of the kollel is in very bad shape. In particular is the sharp drop of the dollar against the shekel. (The stipend is paid in shekels) It is our hope that more sponsors will join so that we can continue to go even stronger than now. Yissochor Zevulen Agreements are available with an avreich tzaddik who will learn for a full year at chatzot for your zchus.



Land – for the new Kollel Chatzot Building

With praise and gratitude to Hashem for arriving at this point, as we already wrote a few times that for the past few years the kollel has been in exile, going from one place to the next. Today we are located in a small rented premise which is almost impossible to be in now that we have 60 avreichim. The location is also not ideal as it is far from everyone, besides for the fact that its very uncomfortable because of its small size. For over two years we were waiting for a lot which will finally be ours, for the Kollel Chatzos to have a spacious building which will include a library and a ritural mikve. We are now proud to inform you that we finally received a spacious lot for a place which will be resonating with torah study and prayer 24 hours around the clock! This will surely be a nachat ruach for Hashem. Right now we are still working on the building plans and then we will start the fundraising campaign and turn to our patrons to take part in this holy structure. There will be possibilities of memorializing different wings, the beit midrash, the library, the womens gallery, the kitchen and the mikve. Soon I'll be showing the building plans to all the donors. With hope and a prayer to Hashem that we will be successful and that we will merit very soon to thank Him for the completion without debts, only with relief and great bounty.
